Place the birdhouse on a tree or wall, at a height of up to 2 m (6.6 ft) in a quiet well hidden spot between dense bushes or ivy plants. Place in a sheltered spot, not in the direct sunlight and not with the opening side catching the rain, and ensure it has an obstacle-free approach route for the bird.
